One of the effects used in stained glass painting is blurry. To create it, it will require paints of one variety and, preferably, one brand. Various colors should be used, colorless paint is especially well suited, which, when mixed with a different color, gives an interesting effect of marble, stains in the form of drops, subtexts.
Having inflicted colored paint, you should make sure that the layer is not thick and not thin. For the first training, it is better to take a flat surface, since on volumetric products it is difficult to avoid ugly pounds of excess paint. On fresh paint, you can drive a needle or brush to make stains. You can drip colored paint on colorless and vice versa. Do not forget about the combination of colors and the shades that may turn out when mixing them.
One of the most interesting techniques is the effect of Krakelyur. This is a decorative cracking of a layer of paint, which is achieved through the use of fake varnish. It is better to pre -cover the glass with soil or acrylic varnish. The width and thickness of the cracks will depend on the amount of the applied fake varnish. But the thick layers of varnish are not suitable for candlesticks due to the temperature difference, but they will look good on a flat panel. You can alternate smooth areas with areas with craquelure to feel that the product consists of pieces of glass. In stained -glass painting, small balls, glass or metal sawdust, sparkles, which are sold in a dry form in small jars are often used. These decorative elements are poured on a raw transparent varnish. For uniform distribution, they should be carried out on them with a brush.
Textured pastes and gels help create relief. A glitter paste has a triple effect immediately, which gives color, iridescent shine and volume. Such a pasta does not need preliminary priming, it can be of different colors and good when decorating volumetric products. It can be used as a contour, applying a brush.
There are colorless pastes containing small glass balls that give the relief and shine. Such pastes can be applied to already painted glass.
Another effect is an imitation of a real stained glass. To do this, you need to “break” the prepared drawing into small details. Contour for gold, silver or bronze are drawn fragments of the image, and the middle is painted with paint.
